Privacy (POPIA)

RMK Industries (Pty) Ltd t/a RMK Retail, Polokwane, Limpopo, is the business and the responsible party (data controller) for your personal information. This notice explains how we handle it under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

• Your name and cellphone number, and your e-mail address if you give it.
• The shop you collect at, your orders and payments.
• For shop owners, sales reps and suppliers: the details and documents you give in your application.
• For "Want RMK in your village?": the village and, only if you give it and agree, your cellphone number.

Why we use it

• To take, deliver and hand over your orders, and to tell you about them.
• To pay shops, sales reps and suppliers, and to keep the records the law requires (for example tax invoices).
• To decide where RMK should go next (village requests).
• We do not sell your information, and we do not share it except with the people who need it to serve you (your collection shop, the driver, PayFast for card payments) or where the law requires it.

Your rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Contact us by e-mail (the address at the top of this page), on WhatsApp or by phone (see Contact). You may also complain to the Information Regulator.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax law requires. Village requests are kept until RMK has a shop in that village, or for two years.
